How Much Cake Should I Order?
The number of servings you get from your cake will depend on how it's cut. "Party servings" are larger slices and will yield less servings. "Wedding servings," on the other hand, are smaller portions, aptly named because of how cake is often served at weddings.
A list of the common cake sizes are found below. Round cakes are measured in diameter, or width of the cake.
6" Three-Layer Round Cake 10-15 servings
8" Three-Layer Round Cake 18-25 servings
10" Three-Layer Round Cake 30-40 servings
Quarter Sheet Cake (9"x13") 20-28 servings
Half Sheet Cake (13"x18") 40-60 servings
